French graduate with 25+ years experience of tutoring all ages and abilities, motivated by helping students achieve their goals, increase their confidence and empower them to speak, listen to, read and write in French. I use a wide range of up to date resources to engage my students and a fun, enthusiastic and cheerful approach to create a harmonious environment for studying and learning French, introducing aspects of French culture and history to fit with each student's particular goals. I have a great sense of humour and the ability to inspire and motivate my students. Previous students have achieved and surpassed their original goals for example one A level students did a resit and within 3 months I helped him go from a grade B to an A. I also recently enabled a struggling GCSE student to go from a grade 2 mock to a grade 5 final mark. I really enjoy finding out how each student learns i.e. visual, auditory to help me tailor each lesson to their preferred learning style. This method is effective and takes into account the needs of the individual rather than the end goal. I build trust and rapport with my students through listening to their needs and constructing lessons around this 'evidence' which makes their lessons more useful than a generic approach. Students who struggle with grammar sometimes just need help establishing a learning method which works for them, then through regular repetition and different kinds of exercises to practice the more difficult aspects, they get that 'eureka' moment!
