The basis of my teaching is creativity. Lessons will be tailored to each individual child and we will use methods and exercises that best work for them. I am able to teach English and Drama up to A level and History up to GCSE. I achieved an A* in English Literature A level and an A in drama A level and am about to graduate from a Theatre Production degree. I have lots of experience working with children and young people and love seeing them succeed. It is important to me that tutor sessions aren't boring, and have found that using creative exercises engages children's brains in different ways, allowing them to see how to tackle tricky questions and exams from different angles. For example, if your child struggles to format English essays in a way that achieves high marks, we would start with a paragraph structure and build up to formulate a whole essay structure that works not just for one particular question but for all exams moving forward. Every child finds success in different ways and it is important to explore lots of exercises to find the right one rather than trying to force 'traditional' learning and writing methods on those who struggle to understand them. As someone who struggled with this myself and was able to turn a corner when I changed my learning methods, I come from a personal, as well as professional, understanding. I hope that working together would not only create success in academic work, but also would be fun and engaging - who knows what crazy creativity might work!
