Speakers from abroad are usually far more competent in writing and grammar from their academically-taught English. What they are lacking in are skills in speaking, pronunciation, listening and vocabulary. I always achieve good results with my students because my lessons are engaging and learner-based. Learning is shown to be more memorable and effective when it is interesting.
