I can support with learning, consolidation, revision and exam technique.
I will work with the student to discover how they learn best in order to achieve results that the students can be proud of.
I would like learning to be fun as well as valuable and thorough. Generally, we will cover key concepts before attempting questions of increasing difficulty - working on any issues as they reveal themselves.
I find that it is effective to approach learning maths creatively and at a student-led pace. Once key concepts are understood, it's a matter of practice and approaching a range of questions as well as refreshing knowledge regularly.
It is up to the student what we cover in lessons and that generally depends on why they are seeking tuition. I am equally happy to follow their school cirriculum, helping consolidate what they have learnt in lessons and address any understanding issues, as well as working mainly on exam revision or simply going further in content. I want my lessons to be a time where students can bring any questions they have regarding the subject to me and we can work through them together.
I have worked part-time as a maths tutor for the past 2 years in addition to volunteering in school with maths lessons and tutoring GCSE students. I enjoy learning and teaching and have a passion for helping others achieve their full potential and get the grades that reflect their work!
I firmly believe that everyone is capable of doing well in maths!
