My lessons often follow the modern ´direct’ method of communicative language teaching which has been proven by many professionals to be the most efficient and aids the student to feel more comfortable. The dynamic will always begin as student led, finding out their personal strengths, weeknesses, and targets before creating a plan of five lessons. All aspects of language learning, (speaking, writing, listening and reading) are sure to be covered. This allows for student-teacher response rather than the student just listening to me; this proven method boosts student confidence and communication skills both within their native language and target language, something I believe to be incredibly important. In most of my lessons I will be providing exercises from trusted educational sources such as matching activities, summarising a short audio clip, self correcting and writing in different formats. I have an incredibly high focus on pronunciation due to my previous personal experiences with teaching ESL students who struggled to communicate in english as their accent caused a great barrier, I wish for my students to be able to effectively communicate with native french speakers whatever their level of language. Personally I excel within listening and grammar, making these priorities for students who struggle however I believe that I am incredibly flexible within my abilities to teach all aspects of language, ensuring that the students personal targets remain a priority. I have previous experiences of tutoring both French and Italian, furthermore I am very experienced within teaching english as a second language, my best example being that of two native mandarin students who went on to pass their english ILETS test with amazing results.
