I aim to run a student led session which will be tailored to each individual. I will start by identifying which area the student feels least confident in and creating targeted interactive workshops around those, giving them a chance to ask questions around the topics and also go away and do their own research to develop skills. Once these areas are identified, we will go through each lesson with a practice question on that area in mind and address the issues in the question, how to answer it and how it interplays with other areas of law and/or politics. If the student wishes to write practice essays I would be happy to provide effective and constructive feedback, taking into account the students own self-assessment of what went well and what could have gone better.

When I was a student I also liked looking at topical case studies and high profile cases I had seen in the news and how they presented different legal and ethical problems. I would therefore try to incorporate these small segments into sessions as well to broaden knowledge of current affairs and how they can help us answer real legal problem questions or essay prompts.

In addition to legal content and problem solving, I have a wealth of advice on applications for university, scholarships, study tips and resources, good legal extra curricular activities and work experience and more which I am happy to share with the student if they also wish to pursue any of these things.
