Hi all! A little bit about me; I have been teaching in different primary schools for just over 7 years in the U.K. and have experience in both KS1 and KS2. I have taught SATs years in KS1 and have a thorough understanding of the phonics check in Year 1. I have extensive experience supporting those children with additional needs and providing differentiated lessons to help ensure all children make good progress in my lessons. This is why I make an excellent tutor, too. I recognise the need to be flexible, the need of making lessons multi-sensory and fun. I use games quite often to help engage children so they are learning without realising it quite often! During my tutoring sessions, I will start by recapping what has been learnt so far to ensure pupils are building strong foundations week by week. Overlearning is an essential part in development. We will then progress to the ‘new’ part of the session by playing some games, practising and revising this new knowledge. Finally, during the last part of the session, the ability to apply the new skill will be practised. This will often be speaking or writing tasks/activities which will then help to embed this skill. I will always listen to you to know if there is anything in particular you need from me.
I can also support adults learning English as a foreign Language as I’m TEFL trained. If you need support speaking, reading or writing- I’m more than happy to assist you to achieve your goals.
