As aforementioned, I was born and raised in France where I completed my French baccalaureate (equivalent of A-levels in the UK) in 2017, then I moved to the UK to study law at university.
For beginners, I aim to teach the basic principles of oral and written skills. These include namely pronunciation, spelling, basic sentence structures and grammar, as well as the fundamentals of verb conjugation (arguably the trickiest aspect of the language).
For intermediate levels, I will introduce students to segments of classic french poetry and literature, including for instance works from Homer, La Fontaine and Voltaire. These help students contextualise and deepen their understanding of the basic principles of reading and writing. At this level, students can also expect to begin learning more advanced conjugation (yes there’s more), grammar, and learning how to handle a basic conversation.
For more advanced levels, students can choose to improve their practical skills (daily speaking and writing skills, humour, culture, etc.) or more theoretical skills. The latter includes learning the deeper layers of writing, including figures of speech, rhyming patterns in poetry and theatrical literature, and more!
