Luca Nieddu

My name is Luca, and I am an Italian teacher who lived in the United Kingdom from 2013 until July of this year. I recently returned to Italy, settling in Alghero, my hometown.

During the 2022/2023 academic year, I obtained a PGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education) in Primary Education, focused on teaching children aged 5 to 11. This certification also granted me Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK. As part of this program, I successfully completed two teaching placements, actively teaching and managing two classes (Year 1 and Year 3/4) in two primary schools in the Brighton and Hove area.

In the 2023/24 academic year, from September to July, I worked as a Year 10 tutor and teacher at Homewood College in Brighton, a special secondary school for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Here, I gained experience teaching various subjects and took on roles such as General Cover Supply Teacher (teaching all subjects), Science Teacher, and Head of the Science Department.

Regarding my academic background in Italy, I hold a Diploma di Laurea Vecchio Ordinamento in Painting, which I earned with a score of 110/110 cum laude at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna in 2010. I also hold a Diploma di Maturità Classica from Liceo Classico G. Manno in Alghero, obtained in the 2001/2002 school year, and a professional diploma as a Colorist from the prestigious Comics School in Florence.
