I have always liked to share my deep passion for music, which I have dedicated all my life to since I started playing guitar at the age of 11.
I have done that formally through private lessons, during my undergraduate studies in London, teaching children from the age of 7 to the age of 13, and also some adults.
I enjoy and actively take part in any conversation about music and I am always fascinated by the atmospheres and phenomena that music creates.
I have an extensive curriculum in performing live music with national concerts in venues such as Ronnie’s Scott, Pizza Express Live in Soho, O2 Academy in Islington, Eastside Jazz Club, Jazz at the Ruin, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, and many others, in addition to international shows as well including Altersonic Music Festival in the Netherlands and Lava Jazz Festival in Portugal.
Through my career as a performer I learnt to adapt and play many different styles of music on the guitar, and I am always excited to take new challenges on board. I look forward to starting a career in education, sharing my knowledge of the instrument and of music with students and passionate pupils, and I truly believe in the value of passing the musical knowledge on to the young generation.
I have also been mentored by great musicians such as Chris Montague, Jez Franks, Mike Williams, Winston Clifford, Gianluca Corona, Mirco Mariottini, and Roberto Nannetti, to cite a few, and I conducted formal interviews for music research purposes with Israeli guitarist Oz Noy and Music Lecturer Barack Schmool.
My intent is to build or reinforce all the abilities concerning music on the guitar, with specific regard to technique, in order to allow the student to play safely and naturally, music knowledge and theory, to implement the use of the student’s ear and improve his or her aural skills, in order to unlock a more creative approach to make music. Lastly, I focus on improvisation as it plays a major role in the development of a successful musician; improvisation is the special ability that allows students to internalise, in the most efficient way possible, all the music material they have, unlocking the full potential of their personal creativity force.
