My lessons are interactive, tailored, and designed to make maths both engaging and accessible. As someone with ADHD, I understand the challenges of maintaining focus and retaining information, so I incorporate methods that have personally helped me succeed.
One key approach I use is engaging students with thought-provoking questions, sometimes more complex than the required level, to stimulate critical thinking and strengthen their understanding. By working through these challenges together, we not only build confidence but also reinforce memory when the concept clicks.
I also employ simple, targeted exercises to help students memorise key equations and techniques, breaking them down into manageable steps that stick. My lessons are dynamic and flexible, adapting to each student's pace and needs, with a focus on fostering both understanding and a genuine interest in maths.
In addition to engaging problem-solving and memory techniques, I ensure my lessons are highly adaptable to suit each student’s unique learning style. Whether it’s visual aids, step-by-step walkthroughs, or hands-on problem-solving, I tailor my teaching to maximise understanding and enjoyment. With my experience studying maths intensively as part of my engineering degree, I can break down complex topics into simpler, more digestible concepts, ensuring students feel confident tackling even the most challenging problems. I also promote active learning by encouraging students to ask questions and take the lead in solving problems, fostering independence and critical thinking skills over time.
