Hi potential student! Nice to meet you.

My name is Louise, I am easy going, calm, flexible. Not what you might imagine for a teacher perhaps.

Let me tell you a story, I’ll keep it brief. I went to art school, it sucked . My teacher was strict, she wanted me to draw and paint like a professional Italian master. There was no flexibility, no exploration, no creativity, no open-mindedness to other paths. It knocked the confidence out of me. The academic side - research, notes, knowing what to say or how to be brave enough to present in front of class was awful! So I dropped out.

During the pandemic I had my 40th birthday. Of course we had to stay at home, so I asked myself ‘What do I want to do?’ And my mind turned back to art. I decided I wanted to become a professional illustrator. And so I did.

Sounds easy right? Well it wasn’t. It took me years to learn what I am now willing to teach you. I have learnt how to research (in a fun way) how to pitch to art agents (and succeed) how to develop your own art style (you’ve already got it in you) and how to be confident with texture, tone, mark-making, digital art and much, much more!

I have no ‘set’ lessons. I will talk to you in-depth, and together we will tailor you the perfect course, week-by-week, to get you where you need to be. If this sounds like your way of learning, I’d love to hear from you.
