Louisa Doswell

My name is Louisa Doswell, and I am currently working as an KS3 and KS4 English teacher in Birmingham. I deliver a range of qualifications, including ESOL at a variety of levels and GCSE English. I completed my PGCE Post Compulsory Education Training qualification at Birmingham City University. As a teacher who specialises in English language and Literature at key stage three, four and five, plus experience teaching ESOL, I have an 88% pass rate every year.

My teaching ethos is believing that all students should be kind, tolerant, respectful and aim for excellence in all that they do. This ethos we share leads to happy learners equipped with the personal and professional skills to enter the next step of their learning or career, whether that be university, an apprenticeship, or a job.

I have been teaching consistently since my graduation from my undergraduate degree in 2018, moving to Peru, South American for a year, before teaching in London and Germany. Then I moved to Shenzhen, China to teach in an elementary school working exclusively with learners aged 15-18 years old, preparing them to undertake their English exams to enter the UK to study. Most of the learners I taught in Shenzhen have since gone to international universities such as Cambridge, Oxford, or Yale.
