Biography

After Art School Lou did several years of community art projects with primary and secondary school age students, which included creating drawing (1 Kilometre long drawing), painting, life size papier mache people, working for the Building Experiences Trust taking art and architecture techniques into schools, as well as workshops with concrete sculptures, scrap metal musical instruments, and running the Mobile Media Club with animation & film-making skills.

Her own art commissions include a ‘glass’ triptych for the Wiltshire History Museum, and the Wish-hounds Sculpture commission for Swindon Borough Council and Nationwide Headquarters. Lou was Artistic Director at Create Studios in Swindon before going on to direct many award-winning documentaries and short drama for TV and cinema. Lou returned to painting and has since had several one woman shows in London, selling internationally through Saatchi Art, and fulfilling many commissions for private clients. Last year Lou was commissioned to undertake 117 4ft square paintings for 55 of the 57 storey residential building One Park Drive in Canary Wharf. Lou is also the host of Brave New Girl podcast celebrating those working for the benefit of people and planet.
