I have taught middle school and high school English. This has entailed Essay Writing and Creative Writing techniques. My expertise in Literature allows me to choose poetry, fiction and nonfiction that is engaging and elicits critical thinking skills. My goal is to give people the opportunities to identify specific literary characteristics. This may be done through a critique (book review), Google Slide Presentation on themes, Character Analysis, etc. The authors range from the classics such as Emily Dickinson, Mark Twain, Ernest Hemingway to John Green, Maya Angelou, Frank McCourt, Rudy Francisco. My choices are eclectic and span genre and time periods. The goal is to inspire others to learn. My training as a Poetry Therapist has given me tools that are unique and create a space for holistic learning.
