I am an enthusiastic and dedicated tutor. I have been doing private tutoring for six years now. I have been helping a special needs woman improve her English skills for six years now. She has autism and dyslexia. I have also helped foreign people with their English skills. I have also worked as a teaching assistant in U.K schools with children using the phonics system of learning. With my foreign students I use podcasts so they can improve their listening skills. I usually cater the topics of my classes to what my students are interested in learning, e.g health, hobbies or for applying for work. I was also a member of the French Twinning Association, which is a club where French and English people make friends. I was their English to French translator for 6 years. I have made over 100 French friends on facebook and I speak to them most days. I have a degree in French, Linguistics and Sign language and I know basic sign language. I am currently studying for a certificate in challenging behaviour as I find this aspect of teaching interesting. I have always been very enthusiastic about teaching languages, as I feel speaking and reading are very important skills to have for life, work and travel. I have also worked at a local English school for adults and I think I produced informative, concise and colourful handouts for my students. I also like to make my lessons fun as humour is important as well.
