Our lessons will focus on your personal methods of learning and ensuring that we adapt and create a lesson plan which is consistent, effective, and most importantly, catered to you and your learning style. We will begin by identifying your strengths and weaknesses in the subject alongside which pieces of literature you are studying and which areas of the subject you are having difficulty in. I have a solid understanding of the Higher and National 5 English courses, receiving high A grades in both and studying at an Advanced Higher level also.
Through running after school activities relating to STEM teaching and studying Physics in university, I also know the importance of English proficiency in ‘real-world’ application in instances aside from specifically English or literature based courses. I mention this to assure you that no matter if English is your favourite subject or simply a requirement for what you wish to achieve in life, I can help you gain the confidence and skills required to reach this goal.
As our lessons begin and your goals and areas of focus are identified, we will study what both you and I feel is necessary; as I can provide extra poems, RUAE passages, printed past papers, or notes for us to go over together, or, as a form of homework which I can mark outside of our sessions to then be referred back to in our next to discuss improvement and what areas we will still must continue to work on.
Lessons will be available online or in person depending on which is most preferable , however, I must assure you that neither will leave you missing out on important information or benefits from the tutoring session. I do recommend ‘in-person’ if you feel you struggle with isolated learning environments or would simply prefer physical copies of notes or past paper work.
