I truly believe that interest in a subject entirely depends on the teacher. A passionate and flexible educator encourages curiosity and facilitates learning. I try to be just that! With a recent MSc in Psychology (distinction and Dean’s list) and a true passion for the subject, I am excited by the prospect of a student becoming interested in psychology too. I aim to adapt to each individual’s learning style and provide as much context on topics as possible, to aid understanding of the subject. Furthermore, I am aware of the topics students generally struggle with, including biological psychology and research methods, and allow extra time to work through understanding of those particular areas. I try to use a range of techniques, visual aids, and research articles to bring topics to life and contextualise learning. Whether at my home, at the student’s home, or online, my classes are interactive, engaging, and educational.
While I do not possess years of teaching experience, I have volunteered as a teacher in Kathmandu, Nepal and taught children ranging from three to 17 years old. I was responsible for conducting Geography, Maths, Social Science, and English classes in English to students with limited proficiency in the language. Throughout the experience, I developed a patient and thorough approach and learned how exciting and rewarding it can be when a struggling student finally understands a topic.
I offer personalised classes which will consolidate the student’s learning and allow for a smooth and easy journey through the subject and exams.
