I have four years of teaching English to Chinese students of all ages. I specialize in giving English speaking and writing lessons with personalized course materials that interest each different student. I choose video clips that include movies, talent shows and TV series, and audio materials like public speeches or podcasts as my course materials that are usually multi-dimensional and diverse. Students usually find them time relevant and stimulating. In my classes, I not only teach the language itself, but the cultural values behind the language.
The courses last from thirty minutes to an hour long, and the teaching methods I use are always interactive, with the students being the center of each class. I choose different topics for each class for discussions among my students, encourage them to speak more, and then correct their grammatical mistakes and point out how to make their oral presentations more coherent and effective. In terms of writing, I encourage them to organize and speak their own ideas on the topics first, and only then ask them write those ideas down. After that, I will check their grammatical mistakes and offer more effective ways to express their ideas more clearly, as well as provide new ideas for them to enrich their current writing.
I've taught English to many Chinese high school students and university students, to help them with their IELTS, TOEFL or other language tests, as well as English speaking and writing contests, many of them have achieved good grades and satisfying results in those events.
