Hi, I'm Lisa!

I’ve been a qualified Art & Design teacher since 2010, and I’ve had the privilege of teaching in both the UK and New Zealand. Over the years, I’ve gained a wealth of experience teaching a variety of subjects within the Visual Arts, including Graphic Design, Photography, and Fine Art. Whether in mainstream secondary schools, SEND schools, or through personal tutoring, I’ve worked with students of all backgrounds and skill levels, and I’m passionate about making art accessible to everyone.

My teaching approach is student-centred and flexible. I strive to meet each student where they are, providing clear demonstrations of the task at hand while adapting the work to suit different learning needs. I strongly believe in the power of constructive feedback and tailored support, and I make sure to provide this in a way that encourages growth and builds confidence. Beyond my teaching role, I am also a practicing artist. I regularly create oil paintings and am currently preparing for a solo exhibition of my work. My experience as an artist gives me a deeper understanding of the challenges that students face in developing their style and navigating the highs and lows of the creative journey.
