Hi, I’m Lily!

I teach English as a foreign language or GCSE French. ????????

I am currently studying A level French and English, and I received grade 9’s in both of these subjects at GCSE.

My lesson styles are adaptable to any requirements of the learner, and my aim is to ensure the needs of the leaner are fulfilled to the highest standard.

I divide my lessons into sections depending on which area of language learning we’re targeting. For non Latin script languages eg Arabic, Russian or Chinese, I work on letter drawing and getting used to a new alphabet. I offer translation, reading, writing and speaking practice, with the target language level being catered to the learners ability.

If lessons are chose to be taught in person, I have a range of interactive resources which I will provide, such as reading books specific for their level, recordings of different dialects of their chosen language and translation paragraphs on a variety of subjects. I will aim depending on comprehension to speak to the learners in their target language, however I will aim also to learn conversational phrases in their native language in order to have efficient communication and develop a friendly environment.

I pride myself on being not only an informative tutor, but also an approachable and friendly face to my students. Throughout their learning process, I will strive to be as encouraging and supportive as I possible can, and I’m able to assist with any questions or concerns. I will always seek to be proactive and make sure I’m fully prepared for each lesson. I understand the individual needs of each student and I’m fully committed to making sure they get most out of our time together.
