My approach can vary based on the student and subject but my most common teaching style is to first address the student's weakest areas in the given subject or subject (s) and work through exam questions based on these areas and spend time on content revision if needed. Again, this is dependent on the student, as I have come across young people before with very short-attention spans and therefore would base our sessions on more quick fire quiz questions, working though a power point and avoiding a large amount of exam questions which may be more strenuous than productive for students who struggle to concentrate for longer periods of time. Overall my main focus is practice and feedback which helps both to fill gaps in knowledge and strengthen the skills that students already have. I am also very open to collaboration with parents of they feel that a particular form of learning should be prioritized or used.
I have just finished my A Levels in English, History, Spanish and Drama with an A* predicted for all and have achieved an 8-9 GCSE grade for all subjects I tutor.
I currently have an offer from Durham University for Modern Languages and provide tutoring sessions for students from Year 7 to Year 12 in English Literature, English Language (excluding year 12), History and Spanish online, and in-person sessions for students based in South London.
From my time in secondary and sixth form education I wish I could have had more support and would love to offer GCSE and A Level support to any young person who needs it.
