All lessons will be tailored to your needs. I will assess what you do and do not already, and use this to devise an individual learning plan. I keep my lessons light hearted and friendly to reduce stress and pressure as I feel a good tutor/ tutee relationship is vital- you cannot learn if you don’t enjoy it! My previous experiences include teaching KS2 students to read and write whilst volunteering at a primary school, and tutoring my peers during our GCSES, helping improve them by up to three grades. We will start with basic questions, to test your understanding of different question formats, grammatical skills etc, and then work on the areas that we agree you need the most focus. Furthermore, to anyone who’s interested, I also offer piano lessons, where I will coach you to read and play music, providing helpful and personalised feedback. My main aim when it comes to my lessons is to provide you, or your child, an experience to absorb. A stream of constantly fed information is unhelpful and can be confusing to anyone struggling with their learning. Sometimes relieving the pressure of a standard classroom environment can make a student feel more heard and understood, not only giving them better understanding, but also making them more open to learning. It’s so easy for teachers in schools to overlook students who are struggling, making the student feel isolated and frustrated. By letting me help take on their education, I am certain I can make a difference.
