My style of teaching is kind, friendly and dedicated in helping students and learners improve their English language skills in conversational speaking, listening, reading and writing (comprehension).
I will check and correct grammar, lexis, pronunciation, intonation and stress.
I am from London and have a central London accent. I speak clearly and concisely. I am flexible and patient and give students time to process and encourage learners improve their English language skills and support them to grow in confidence. I build rapport with new learners and make them feel welcome and will grade my English, (speaking slowly when needed).
I am currently working as an on line English language tutor with Cambly for over 18 months.
My working background is 36 years experience working as an adviser and trainer for local government, local authorities and for the Metropolitan Police.
I am currently preparing and studying for the CELTA from Cambridge qualification for teaching English as a foreign language. A worldwide recognised qualification for English language teachers.
English language and literature, History, Art and Human Biology were my favourite subjects at school, in which I obtained B grades at O and A level. I also have an NVQ level 3 in Administration and a Certificate in Management obtained from working at the Department of Work and Pensions.
The students I support are usually at, pre-entry level, level 1,2&3. Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate level and Advanced. Aged between 16 to 60 plus. Students preparing for the IELTS exam, ESOL and speakers of other languages who need help with CVs, cover letters, job applications and interviews.
