I taught at a Kumon Centre for over a year and a half and I loved the experience I had there so I would love to do something like that again! At Kumon, I was called the centre ‘Cheerleader’ due to my enthusiastic nature and willingness to work with even the most reluctant students.
In my lessons, I like to work together with the student leading to try and help them to grasp the content I’m helping with. They can either bring their homework to the lesson or before the first lesson, tell me what it is they need help with/ what they’re learning in school, and I can find my own resources I believe would best help them.
At the end of every lesson, I will report back to the parents with a brief summary of how the child found the work that day, highlighting what they did well and what areas may need additional attention.
