I enjoy teaching through play and will find many ways to engage learners through playful learning opportunities. I can read stories and develop comprehension by asking questions and developing children's reading skills at their own pace. I will work with families to use objects that they have at home to create these learning opportunities as well as support through resources I have such as books, flashcards and games. I will encourage children through positive praise and certificates and base all of my learning opportunities on the children's interests. I will observe children's strengths and weaknesses and communicate with families to identify areas of concern. I have experience working with children with low confidence and will pace my lessons based on the children's personal needs. I can support families in implementing high-quality play activities at home to aid the child's learning, confidence, and ability to succeed. I have experience working with a range of learning types, and I aim to be inclusive of all ways a child may learn best, as this encourages the best possible outcomes for the child. Through my work in SEN schools, I have gained a good knowledge of working with children with additional needs and EAL children. Having recently completed a speech and language therapy course, I can help children with speech and understanding if required. I will adapt my sessions for online or in-person tutoring. Still, whichever method you use, I promise to provide fun and interactive sessions that promote high-quality learning outcomes.
