I find the best way to tutor a student is to get to know what works for them, whilst helping them with time management. It’s important to play to their strengths to help them find the best way to learn , as this is different for everyone. This can range from mind maps, scrabble to making a memorising game. I have previously been a SEND mentor and have worked with students who have dyslexia , anxiety etc, so I understand the importance of adapting lessons to help them understand and absorb the knowledge better. Some key skills for History include : analysis, evaluation and understanding , I understand that sometimes History can seem like a full on subject that only uses books. However , I like to use more creative and interactive methods like mid maps and quizzes to help students to learn.
