I’m currently a 3rd Year History undergraduate of the University of Lincoln, working towards eventually becoming a history teacher! I’ve never done official tutoring before, but have helped many people with English as a foreign language, and basic maths and literacy. I aim to create personalised lessons for all, going at the students own pace to not only learn new things but also not let stress overtake something that should be fun!
I will likely use a lot of visual learning - but this is subject to change if the student prefers. Powerpoints, diagrams and a lot of picture examples are things I find particularly useful for all learning a sit helps visualise out goals. I would like students to use our first lesson to let me know what areas they feel need most help so i can’t start to make lesson plans based on personal needs. As a history student i will likely include the etymology of English - so we can learn new things and will help students to remember material!
In general, the content will build up as sessions go on - starting with basics (if required) and building up to more complex learning. This is make the development of new skills easier as we will already have laid a foundation for all we need!
I hope that i am able to help as many people as possible by teaching with patience, understanding and kindness whilst also sharing my enthusiasm for learning new things! LETS MAKE LEARNING FUN AGAIN!
