My Philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow both mentally and socially. This can be achieved only in a classroom that is safe and where a caring community is established.
I see my role in the classroom as a facilitator of learning, I am guiding my students and helping them to reach their full potential. Children should be able to have choices and let their curiosity direct their education. Through my lessons, I try to incorporate different learning styles and make content relevant to students’ lives. Incorporating ICT into classroom experiences helps children to make their own research and be independent learners. Providing specific and meaningful feedback and encouragement is very important as it helps students to build their confidence and intrinsic motivation.
Another thing I am trying to do is to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, consistency, and warmth to my job. I am trying to create a classroom with a positive, welcoming, and fair environment, where all students learn from one another and feel safe and comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas. Respectful attitude towards each other is emphasized every day during form time, through everyday interactions. I as a teacher and mentor in this case should be a model for my students, holding positive regard for all pupils and ensuring that respect is maintained within the classroom at all times.
Finally, I want to say that I am prepared and continue to learn with and from my students and to grow in understanding of my student’s individual needs.
