I am a fully DBS-qualified tutor with around a year's worth of experience teaching mathematics. I am very confident in my skills in mathematics, having achieved an A* at GCSE and and A at A-level. When I teach my students I like to teach the process and reasons behind what they are doing as I find that this helps build their confidence in tackling the problem and helps them transfer their skills to other parts of the curriculum. I enjoy the method of one-to-one tutoring as it allows the tutor to teach in a manner that initiates conversation and gets the student more directly involved in the learning process. this is something I hope to take complete advantage of in our sessions. In terms of the syllabus I would teach, I would like to focus on strengthening the pupil's weaker areas in the subject which I will identify through regular testing and conversations with the pupil to identify which areas they don't feel confident in. If, however, both the student and myself are comfortable with the level of knowledge they have currently I am more than happy to teach them above and beyond what they would currently be learning in lessons in order to give them a head start on their curriculum. On a more personal note, I like to believe I am an enthusiastic, bubbly personality and hope to build a trusting rapport with the student. I love teaching and bring 100% passion to every session I do. I am a student at Cardiff university studying economics but hope to shortly start a teaching course myself and do this full time. Trust that if you give me a chance I will meet and exceed your expectations.
