With over 25 years of teaching I have developed a variety of methods to enhance learning. Each student has different learning methods which I try to tap into, this helps in deciding what method or strategy will work best for each.
I tend to prefer enquiry based learning (where students learn by investigation), kinaesthetic, and sometimes game based learning. I often use role play to help students to consolidate their learning.
Students are usually exposed to a range of texts that represent the same material differently, which helps them to express contrasting views, sometimes critically.
In the teaching of psychology I focus on helping students to think like psychologists. Teaching them how to evaluate studies and theories.
I tend to move away from teacher centred learning sometimes , to a more student -centred learning which gives the student more opportunities to take responsibility for their learning and to become more creative and reflective in their learning.

Assignment
As a teacher one aims to get the very best out of each student so proper planning is vital. The teacher has to determine the needs of each student and ensure that they are all engaged in learning. Where learning assessments are concerned, I always ensure that they connect to the learning objectives. It is important that students learning is measured.
