I like to describe myself as a passionate, enthusiastic academic who is always intrigued in finding out more. I believe this description is reflected in my teaching methods as many of my students gain a greater love for their subjects after experiencing lessons with me. My teaching style comprises of interactive modes of learning as I believe that this method is the most beneficial, for both the tutor and the student. I believe it is important to engage in conversations that go beyond the syllabus, as this will formulate deeper understandings of the topic areas.
I have an abundance of experience within tutoring. During my sixth form years, I sacrificed time after school to help tutor underperforming students in lower school, helping them to improve their grades. This was an enriching experience for me as it allowed me improve my personable skills, whilst also enhancing my ability to teach and relay information in different ways to different students. This is an important trait to develop as different students ultimately learn in different ways. A good tutor has the ability to adapt their lessons to suit the needs of the students, and I believe I possess this ability.
Overall, a combination of my enthusiasm for my subjects and tutoring experience will put me in a good position to develop the students I am lucky enough to tutor.
