My teaching practices are framed around student needs, aims, and course requirements. I adjust my practices based on student needs and preferences.
We would commence by identifying particular areas for review and support, and reviewing student notes and the course curriculum together.
Students would be expected to help me understand where they are within the course, so I can ensure I provide full support, i.e. if you are halfway through the course within your school or college, this helps me understand how to pace my support so I do not cover content you have not yet covered in school, to prevent any confusion or information overload.
Every session would start with a recap of the previous session's material and address any questions and clarify any issues. I would provide ten-15 minutes of direct teaching on the new topic, focusing on the core content. We would progress to specific questions and/or issues raised by the student. Sessions would also have a practical section where we walk through relevant examination questions and answer together.
