I have previous experience with tutoring A Level students for Law and also History.
The basic structures of my tutoring sessions will be dependent on the topics chosen by the students. Once the topic is chosen I will plan our session accordingly. I will first assess any weaknesses eg exam technique, lack of case knowledge etc.
Our sessions will be fun and calm with no pressures as I'm a firm believer in you gain more from revision and tutoring when it isn't someone talking at you but with you.
Sessions will be very interactive and support given all the way throughout even when something may be wrong we will look at why it's wrong in a calm manner and none patronising manner. But mistakes are not a bad thing!! Mistakes ensure there is no chance of making them for the real exam and I know this from experience and I am glad I made them!
The first thing will be looking at the basic points needed on the description of the Law for a descriptive, evaluate and scenario question.
Next the focus will be on case knowledge as if you know the cases off by heart and the decision then the descriptive marks for the knowledge of law come naturally!
I will then go through a scenario question and knowing what points to hit when analysing the scenario to ensure you are gaining the full marks whilst applying to a scenario.
Next we will go through a potential essay question knowing fully how to access evaluation marks on the chosen topics.
