I have experience in assisting students with exam prep for their GCSEs, SATs and A-levels. I test student Maths knowledge regularly, praising them and ensuring they stay on track to hit goals. Being someone who, a few years ago, was in their shoes, I completely know what it's like to feel those exam nerves, and it's completely normal!
In order to assist students, I arrange a short free call, where I get to know where the student stands and their target for their exams. At the beginning of the lesson, I will ensure they do a test which will give me an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses in terms of topics. Using this information, I form an excel file, colour coding each topic where the green topics are their strongest, amber is in the middle but could use a bit more work and the topics highlighted in red are ones we shall focus the most on and prioritise. As the weeks go on, I shall make sure we reduce the number of red topics, as an indication that the student has gained more confidence on it. Fundamentally I believe I am very patient, and I can tailor my teaching to fit different learning styles, I also strongly believe no question is a stupid question! They can ask me to repeat something as many times as they can understand, and I shall not hesitate.
Overall, I cultivated excellent student relationships by helping them overcome mathematical difficulties and delivering enjoyable lessons.
