As I have worked as a French Teacher Assistant in a High School for a couple of years and also had the opportunity to grade official exams, I know the current High School curriculum and what your teachers will expect from you. I am aware of what level of French and knowledge is required of a student these days, and have the training and experience to help you reach your academic goals, or simply become more comfortable in a new language.
I can and will adapt easily to the format you will feel prefer for your lesson, upon request, but I myself favour a dynamic approach. My first goal is to make the student comfortable enough to feel free to speak French. The first part of the lesson will be focused on the more scholastic aspects of learning a language, such as grammar and conjugation, with an explanation of new rules and exercices to practice them. These explanations will come with a dynamic and colourful slide presentation and examples to make them as clear as possible. French isn't the easiest language, but learning it need not be tenious! The second part will be more interactive. I think it important to reserve a good share of the lesson to conversation, when the student will be able to feel comfortable to exchange on relevant topics of their interest, on special thematics and practice what we have been working on as well as their pronunciation of the language, and when I can share more about French and French speaking culture.
