My preferred layout of sessions would be to start with a very short recap of what we went through previously or for first times , I will explain the sessions ahead.
I believe that quizzes and knowledge recap is a very strong method to revise mathematics so this is something I like to do a lot.

I believe that quizzes and knowledge recap is a very strong method to revise mathematics so this is something I like to do a lot.
I’m happy to go over topics you feel you are struggling in or if you are unsure on the entire subject make a plan of what we can cover in a way suited to you.
I find it well to start with an explanation of a topic, show some examples worked through by me and then for the student to try questions with my guidance.
Exam style questions are also really important for efficient practise so these can be used for students during exam seasons.
Getting students familiar with exam style questions is really important as it allows them to feel comfortable and relaxed when the real exam is taking place as the questions should be recognisable. Maths is a very hard subject to revise for as the key to this is practice practice practice. My main aim to help students is to teach them ways to remember.
Silly words or phrases can help you remember so much and this is a technique I like to use so that students can remember the methods for certain questions without having to picture the pages of a text book or remember an entire example of by heart.
