With experience in teaching 14-18 year olds as well as experience with a couple of older students, I base my lessons on what your aspirations are. I base my teaching on learning how to use a type of media, we can then tune this knowledge to any specific projects or paintings that you, as an individual, may want to emulate or recreate. I enjoy celebrating less traditional methods of painting in my personal time such as exploring resistance and the application of heat to paints to create different effects.
I hope to create a healthy dynamic with students including wider discussion of art and experience that can help me find a teaching method that suits you better as an individual. I endorse a visual and practical way of learning. Art is so much more enjoyable when we dive in, experiment and learn through experience. It makes lessons more memorable and enjoyable!
Part of teaching will include colour theory, especially in application. When we think about paints, their different qualities and pigment content have an effect on the result. One can't be considered without the other. This can be explained and explored in a plethora of ways depending on the age of my student and their level of experience - please just let me know!
Overall I aim to make my lessons interactive, fun and memorable. Learning can be intuitive and non intimidating if approached in the correct manner.
