As a tutor, I can alter my teaching techniques to the needs of students. On our first session, we will discuss the needs of the student to create a plan of action. We can also follow a more traditional tutoring method of deciding the topic of tutoring prior to the lesson based on what has been taught at school that week. I can also teach ahead, for example, teaching year 8/9 students GCSE content prior to starting the course at school.

I first teach the methods needed to answer questions and then walk through question types before setting some questions to be completed.
I will then mark these questions in order to go through any mistakes with the student.

I will use a wide range of textbooks and will follow syllabus’ if mentoring GCSE students.

I have experience in tutoring, last year I mentored a year 11 student in maths, her grade went up from a 7 to a 9.

in maths, biology, chemistry, physics, history and RS
8,8 in English literature and French
7 in German
6 in English language

My alevel predicted grades are:
A*,A* in maths and biology
A in chemistry

My UCAT score (medical entrance exam):
2970 B2 (top 8% of scores)
