I have found that pupils learn best interactively, which is why I like to engage them actively in the lessons. Whether it be spelling games or with media, learning german does not have to be a chore. I also rely on established learning methods like writing texts, learning vocabulary, and listening activities. Usually, I would open a lesson with a simple vocabulary game and then proceed to either teach something new, like a range of grammar topics, or work with the pupil through assigned coursework they are struggling with. Towards the end of a lesson, I like to practice speaking and listening, which does not have to be boring pre-recorded sentences. Rather german music, from traditional to hip-hop, or clips from german movies or TV shows.
