Lara Hopkinson

I am an experienced Higher Education senior lecturer, teaching in the field of environmental sciences and sustainability. I tend to use a mixed approach of lecture with slides, interactive elements (Q&A, games) and videos to deliver my subject matter. I am experienced at small and large group teaching. I am also experienced at delivery to organisations, based upon specific needs (such as environmental policy, legislation, Environmental Management Systems and a range of other related subject matter). I have supervised numerous students for their undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations, again based on a wide range of subject matter around the wide sustainabilty subject. I am happy to deliver to those who have no subject knowledge, as well as those who consider themselves more expert in a particular field. I will use the latest knoweldge and research in my teaching to ensure you obtain the very latest thinking around the subject matter. I have taught both native speaking English students and those from overseas, and feel confident in my ability to be able to explain complex subjects to all in a way that can be easily understood. I am also trained as a Mental Health First Aider, have undertaken training around autism awareness and regularly teach students with complex neurodivergencies; so feel very able to deal with a wide range of people as part of my teaching practice.
