Through my experience in helping with school students, I have learnt that each student has a unique way of learning so my lessons can be customised depending on the student, their needs and their overall goals. I can teach from a beginner level all the way through to professional fluency and can focus on specific topic areas if you are trying to communicate in a certain field. On top of this, I can access compulsory vocabulary lists for GCSE and A level Chinese exams in England so I can ensure that this vocabulary is taught and/ or revised if there are plans to take these examinations to provide my students with the best chance at success.
My hours are semi flexible and lesson amount and frequency can be chosen by the student but I am still doing my degree so small amounts of time will be unavailable for exams and compulsory commitments.
I believe that I am a good Chinese tutor because I am comfortable around kids and have experience of working with high school age children to help them learn the language (ages 11 through to 16). I also spent some time getting work experience in a year two primary school class and although this didn’t involve language teaching, I learnt a lot of transferable skills especially when it comes to making and keeping younger children engaged in their education, motivating them to do well and just generally how to help them learn and communicate in an effective way.
