As a third year medical student, I have always found that teaching allowed me to explore all my different interests and view the world with fascination; applying what I learnt in the classrooms to real life and seeing how everything clicked once put into the context of the real world. I want to be able to share this fascination and this understanding of how subjects can be applied to the real world with my students so they never have to wonder ‘why am I learning this?’ and ‘what use is this for my future’.
The structure of my tutorials will be carefully adapted to the student as I believe working together and understanding the needs of the student comes first.
The main aspects of the tutorials include:

Sharing a brief overview about the topic (this will include a discussion with the student about what they have learnt in school) so that we are able to agree on what sections need covering of a particular topic. The main tutorial session where we will both go over the sections which need to be covered. Exam style questions with the relevant marking criteria. Tips on how to ensure they maximise all the marks for that particular topic. Interleaving - in the next session we will start with a question to do with the previous topic so that they are able to recall information and continuously revise topics.
