Hi! I’m excited to share what my lessons are like and how I am able to help you, whilst this is my general approach I always adjust to each student’s need.
Format: I design my lesson to be interactive and dynamic, often starting with a brief introduction to the topic followed by a discussion to see what you may already know. From there, I will guide you through examples and, once you feel comfortable, give you some questions to do independently to see if the content is solidified. Throughout my lessons I ensure that it interactive, so you constantly feel supported. Once we are done with the topic I will give you some suggested work and provide a resource to refer back to if you ever get stuck again.
Content: I believe that learning should be engaging and relatable. I incorporate real-world examples and hands-on activities to make concepts stick. For example, if we are learning percentages then relating it to common items students buy, not only making the lesson more enjoyable but also helps reinforce what you’ve learned.
Experience: During my sixth form I helped run a weekly ‘maths help club’ which was aimed at year 7-11 and consisted of students coming to me with various problems and homework. Besides this I have been helping my friends with studying since GCSEs, so I have experience making a comfortable environment for my students whilst keeping it professional.
In my classes, you can expect plenty of opportunities to share your ideas, ask questions, and engage with the work. I look forward to fostering a learning environment where everyone can thrive!
