I have been a special education math teacher for 25 years. I have taught math, science, social studies and language arts. I am currently teaching math to special education students in 6th , 7th and 8th grade. My main focus is middle school math, but I also have experience in language arts. I have also been a private tutor for over 15 years. I am skilled in breaking down the math concepts and presenting them in various ways to help students understand the concepts. Once students have the basic skills needed for a concept we work towards applying those skills to advanced skills. We apply those skills to real world problems by analyzing what is needed to solve the problem and then work through the math to find the answer. I have found that most students gain confidence in their math skills when the material is broken down into understandable lessons. I can also help you to find the confidence and skills needed to be successful in math. I am able to help students starting in lower elementary up through middle school math.
