The first session will begin with understanding what the students main doubts are surrounding the topic and subject and what they hope to achieve.
Discuss the main topics that they hope to focus on during the sessions and what they are confident in.

Main lesson structure:
- Asking the student what they know about the topic for the lesson. If they show a reasonable understanding, then the lesson will be focused on targeting the gaps in their knowledge and working on sections they aren't confident in. Otherwise the lesson will begin with me teaching the topic, with examples and practice questions.
- Class will then focus on working on questions together where the student will try to tackle the question as I help them when they need the support
- Finally I will set them questions to do on their own for homework, to measure their understanding and then this will be covered at the beginning at the next lesson.

If the student feels they require an extra lesson on that topic, they are free to let me know before the lesson so that I can prep accordingly. This way I can help them with what they need.
From experience I have understood that classes should challenge the student but it is also important that the student is happy with the pace of the lessons and that it is made clear from the beginning that it is safe space for them to ask questions without feeling any judgement.
