I believe in an actively questioning approach with active listening on my part - no lectures or too much teacher talking time! My lessons are always learner centred and I strive to be as engaging as possible, reviewing students' work between lessons if necessary for no extra cost and discussing in class, so students are able to put theory into practice as soon as possible. I have over twenty-five years of experience as a teacher and feel that every student has potential, latent or otherwise. We are all creative beings and a warm and encouraging approach from a teacher who also has expertise in coaching can make sure that students feel empowered to do their very best in tackling essay questions, reading comprehension or the dreaded unseen poetry question! I am also a speaker and author so understand the power of the written word and how to strive to express oneself in the most effective way possible.
