Kirstin Dilley

I am a CELTA-qualified native English tutor from Scotland who is passionate about building confidence and making learning enjoyable. I am offering personalised, fun, and engaging sessions for teenagers and adults where the focus will be on speaking comfortably and confidently.

I have a first-class degree in French and a Postgraduate Certificate in Translation Studies. I have lived in France twice, helping high school students become interested in and enjoy learning English. As for my language learning journey, I was always very nervous about speaking French. This really affected my ability to improve. I aim to be the language tutor that I needed by providing a safe space for English learners to build their confidence, take risks, and practise, practise, practise! Whatever is standing in the way of you being a confident communicator in English, I want to help you get past it.

You can therefore expect me to:
- Be consistently supportive, encouraging, non-judgmental and patient.
- Carefully listen to what you need and want from the lessons.
- Break tasks and activities into small and achievable steps, giving you the tools you need to be successful.
- Provide written feedback, suggestions, and notes after each lesson.
- Show you some amazing resources and techniques for you to use in your own time.
- Create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.
