My lessons are fun and informative; by incorporating activities into my lessons it allows for an easier understanding of the content. Each week we will take part in an end of term quiz, which will have prizes to win. All my lessons will be available on powerpoint and will also be available to the students at anytime allowing for out-of-hours learning. I prefer a slow paced approach, really allowing students to go over content and ask any questions. An average session will include a catch-up were me and the student will go over any homework, possible issues, questions. This allows us to not rush into a new session when there are still concerns with the last topic. After this, we will move onto the lesson outline, working on the powerpoint together. Lessons will not be purely powerpoint presentations as I find less retention takes place. After this we will complete a 5 minute quiz on the topic to see how much they can remember. Any topics from the session that haven't been recalled as well we will go over specifically and try different techniques to get the information to stick. At the end of the session, we will have a cool-down period, where we complete a fun interactive task. When students have upcoming exams, a revision session will take place, which will purely be focused on exam questions, revision techniques and exam stress. Each student is different and as much as one session structure works for one, it might not work for the other, so I'm always willing to try different techniques in order to find what's best!
