My lessons are entirely based on what you, as the student, need. If you have one specific essay you need help with, we can break it down to its barest essentials and build it from the ground up, or we can go through the editing stage together if you're already confident in your draft. If you need more assistance with how to structure an essay and how to create an argument, I will create lessons on such topics to help you understand the basics, and then we'll put it into practice and write things together. If you are focusing on creative writing, I can read a rough draft, or we can discuss theme, plot, and how to create a great story, no matter the genre. (My personal favorites to write are fantasy and realistic fiction, but I read and love anything, honestly.)

I find that listening to someone talk for an hour and being told to work on things at home doesn't work for every student and I would prefer these lessons to feel like an open conversation about your wants and needs. With teaching writing in English, I like to make things as project or writing-intensive as possible and have you use the skills we discuss and provide feedback on your projects. The most important thing is that you are having fun. While the work may be tough at times, I am confident we can work through any writing prompt, essay question, or idea that happens to pop into your head.
